Tenth Anniversary of Girls Night Out Celebrates with Caribbean Flair

For 10 consecutive years, homeowners of Noble’s Pond and the surrounding community have gathered for the annual Girls’ Night Out to Fight MS event. Recently more than 200 people joined to rally together to help raise awareness and funds to fight Multiple Sclerosis, an unpredictable disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the body. This event is near and dear to the heart of our Lifestyle Director, Colleen Ostafy, whose daughter was diagnosed with MS.

This is a sought-after event to attend. Tickets went on sale in July and sold out within a week. The event has raised more than $160,000 over the years and raised $16,676.00 this year alone. To celebrate the milestone 10th anniversary of the event, a Caribbean theme complete with relaxing sounds from a steel drum and tropical shooters greeted attendees to start off the night.

Each year, Girls’ Night Out offers a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, the popular Designer Handbag Bingo, dinner, drinks and dancing. There were more than 50 baskets available for auction, with 7 big “main stage” baskets up for grabs. The basket contents ranged from wines, spa essentials, garden items, gift cards, and even items for pets.

The success of this event relies on many moving parts including organized planners, more than 30 gracious volunteers and the outreach of a caring community. Food was provided by sponsors and homeowners, who created chocolate martinis for all to enjoy. Larry Green, Trustee for the Greater Delaware Valley MS Society Chapter, was among the group of attendees at this year’s event. We are thankful for all those who contributed, including these wonderful sponsors:

  • Noble’s Pond
  • Hufford’s Electrical Contractors
  • Whitecap Mortgage / Succarotte Family

Girls’ Night Out is open to the public and most of the attendees are women. Nationally, the number of women diagnosed with MS is double than that of men, which is why the event pays special attention to the ladies while educating people about the disease.
