Noble’s Pond Homeowners Honor Veterans

It’s an annual tradition to honor those who served our country on Veteran’s Day at Noble’s Pond. The festivities include a moment of silence to honor those who have served and those lost, trooping of the colors, and the presentation of the Quilts of Valor from the Noble Quilters community group.

This year was even more special with the reunion of two Marines, Col. Bancroft, and Major Farley, who both served in WWII together. They were both Mustangs, service members who worked their way up the ranks from an enlisted service member to an officer. Twenty years stood between the last time they had seen each other, and this Veteran’s Day celebration was the perfect occasion to meet up again. Armed with Marine memorabilia, they proudly displayed their framed items for serving our country.

Servicemen proudly stood outside the Clubhouse holding flags representing the various armed forces, as well as the United States of America flag and the Prisoners of War (POW) flag. This was the first thing homeowners and guests saw as they approached the Clubhouse for the day’s festivities.

Military pride was all around the inside of the Clubhouse as well. From the banners that hung from the balcony saluting veterans and current service members, to attendees wearing their uniforms and supportive military apparel

One of the annual traditions that attendees look forward to is the Quilts of Valor presentation. Each year military vets are selected to receive these handmade quilts by the Noble Quilters. Each one is unique with colorful patriotic designs representing the military and American pride. The quilts are just another way the Homeowners at Noble’s Pond honor military service members on Veteran’s Day.

Quilts of Valor was founded in Seaford, Delaware in 2003 by Catherine Roberts, whose son was deployed in Iraq. The organization, which grew into a national nonprofit, awards quilts to active service members and veterans to thank them for their service, sacrifice, and valor in serving our nation in combat. The organization’s mission is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.

Noble’s Pond has a number of veterans living in the community and honors them each and every day. To learn more about all of the upcoming events at Noble’s Pond, check out our upcoming events on the website, or contact our Online Concierge for any information at 302-240-4150.
